Fishing in Port Canaveral itself can be very productive. Structure and bait abound and so do the predators that require both of these conditions. Fishing the rock jetties, wharf pilings and the surf line can be very productive for snook, flounder, sheepshead, redfish, bluefish, spanish mackerel, jack crevalle, and mangrove snapper. Live bait such as shrimp, finger mullet and small pinfish are very productive as well as a variety of artificial lures. Jigs and bomber lures are two local favorites.
