Dolphin
Dolphin,
also known as Mahi-Mahi or Dorado, are very abundant off
Florida’s East Coast and throughout the Florida Keys.
Known for their wild jumping capabilities, these fish are
also targeted for their excellent table fare.
The most common
methods of catching these colorful fish are trolling naked
or skirted ballyhoo. Often caught in schools,
Dolphin congregate around any kind of cover such as floating
debris, buoys, and weed lines. The best time of year to target
these fish off of Florida’s Coast are the months of
April, May and June. However, these fish can be caught all
year round.
