Tarpon

Tarpon, known as “Silver Kings” are common along East Florida, Florida Keys and into the tropics. Targeted for their spectacular jumping ability and strong fight, Tarpon are almost a guarantee for skilled anglers in the Florida Keys.

Fly fishermen seek out these gamesters. Tarpon are often more than willing to inhale a live mullet, menhaden or crab. Due to their poor table fare, Tarpon are almost always released. In the rare case of a Tarpon being kept, a $50 permit is required.
